Double-Sided & 3M™ VHB™ Tapes
High-strength acrylic foam bonding tape for panels, signage, trims and assemblies — invisible, vibration-resistant joints that replace rivets and welds in façade, transport and appliance work.
3M VHB structural bonding tape replaces rivets, screws and welds — distributing load across the entire joint instead of concentrating it at fixing points, sealing the joint as it bonds, and leaving a clean face with no visible fasteners. Alongside it we supply the spray adhesives, industrial tapes and Scotch-Brite maintenance range.
Bonding tapes, spray adhesives and industrial tapes, plus the Scotch-Brite professional cleaning and floor-care consumables.

High-strength acrylic foam bonding tape for panels, signage, trims and assemblies — invisible, vibration-resistant joints that replace rivets and welds in façade, transport and appliance work.

Multipurpose spray adhesives including 3M™ Super 77™ — fast-tack bonding for foam, fabric, felt, paper, plastic and light metal in fabrication, upholstery and display work.

Masking, electrical, filament, sealing and surface-protection tapes for industrial processes, packing lines and site protection — supplied by the case with consistent availability.

Sponge wipes, microfibre cloths, cleansing pads, griddle scrubbers and mops for commercial kitchens, housekeeping and facility maintenance teams.

Scrubbing, buffing and polishing pads for floor-care machines — every colour grade for every task, matched to your machine and floor type.
A mechanical fastener concentrates stress at a point and pierces the substrate. A structural bond does neither.
A bonded joint spreads stress along its whole length. Rivets and screws concentrate it at each hole, which is where fatigue cracking starts in panel assemblies.
VHB bonds and seals simultaneously — the closed-cell acrylic foam excludes water and dust from the joint without a separate gasket or sealant operation.
Nothing pierces the visible face. For architectural panels, signage, lift interiors and appliance assembly this is often the whole reason for specifying it.
No drilling, no deburring, no fastener inventory, no torque control, no touch-up around holes. Frequently a shorter operation than the mechanical alternative it replaces.
VHB is not a stronger double-sided tape — it is a structural joint, and it has to be designed as one. These are the factors that decide whether it will hold for the life of the product.

Most 3M resellers ship material and leave. We survey the site, prepare the surface, install it properly and document what was done — because that is where the customer's risk actually sits.

For correctly designed joints, yes — VHB is used structurally in architectural panels, transport bodies and appliance assembly worldwide. The important word is designed. A bonded joint carries load across its entire area, so it must be sized against the actual static and dynamic loads including wind load on external panels. Applied as a strip because it looked strong enough, it will disappoint. Sized properly against the loads, it outperforms the mechanical fixing it replaced.
It depends on the plastic. High surface energy plastics generally bond well. Low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene and polyethylene need either a primer or a VHB construction specifically formulated for low surface energy substrates. Tell us the exact material and we will confirm which route applies — and supply sample material so you can verify it on your own parts before committing.
Bond strength builds over time after assembly rather than being immediate. A substantial proportion develops within the first day and it continues to build over the following days as the adhesive wets out into the surface. Your assembly process needs to account for this dwell — parts should not be loaded to full design stress immediately after bonding.
Spray adhesive suits large or irregular areas, porous materials and situations where a continuous bond line is needed but structural strength is not the requirement — foam, fabric, felt, insulation and display work. Tape suits defined bond lines, structural joints and anything where thickness, gap-filling or clean removal matters. If you are unsure, describe the parts and we will tell you which is appropriate.
Yes. We supply the Scotch-Brite Professional range — sponge wipes, microfibre, cleansing pads, griddle scrubbers and mops — plus floor machine pads in every grade. These are consumables, so we hold stock and supply on a repeat basis with GST invoicing for hotels, hospitals and facility management teams.
Yes, through 3M's converting network — slit widths, die-cut pads and shaped parts to suit your assembly. Lead times are longer than standard stock items, so allow for it in production planning.
