Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on 3M matting, anti-skid tapes, window films, architectural films and conspicuity marking — from 25 years of supplying and installing them.
Why does a building need 3M Nomad entrance matting?
Around 80% of the dirt inside a building walks in through the entrance. A properly sized 3M Nomad matting zone scrapes coarse dirt and absorbs moisture at the door — protecting expensive flooring, cutting daily cleaning cost, and preventing wet-floor slips in the lobby. For high-traffic buildings the matting typically pays for itself in reduced floor maintenance.
Which 3M Safety-Walk anti-skid tape should I choose?
It depends on the surface and footwear. General Purpose 610 suits most stairs, ramps and walkways. Conformable grades (510/530/613) mould over chequered plate and irregular metal surfaces in plants and on vehicles. Fine/Resilient and 620 Clear grades are barefoot-friendly for pools, changing rooms and wet areas. Share a photo of your surface on WhatsApp (+91-98223-26712) and we will recommend the right grade.
Can anti-skid tape be used in wet or barefoot areas?
Yes — 3M makes specific Safety-Walk grades for wet and barefoot areas such as swimming pool decks, bathrooms, changing rooms and food-processing floors. These have a fine, resilient texture that grips wet feet without being abrasive. The 620 Clear version is nearly invisible on decorative flooring.
How much heat does 3M sun control window film cut? Does it reduce AC cost?
3M sun control films reject a large share of solar heat entering through glass, reduce glare, and block more than 99% of UV rays that fade interiors. In Indian conditions this translates into noticeably cooler rooms near glazing and reduced air-conditioning load — many commercial buildings recover the film cost through energy savings. We provide on-glass demos during a site survey.
What is the difference between safety film and toughened glass?
Toughened glass is stronger but shatters into fragments; replacing existing glass is costly and disruptive. 3M safety film is applied to your existing glass and holds shards together on impact — protecting people from flying glass during breakage, storms or attempted break-ins. It is the practical retrofit for occupied buildings, and can be combined with sun control in one film.
What is 3M DI-NOC architectural film and where is it used?
DI-NOC is a self-adhesive architectural finish film available in hundreds of patterns — wood grains, metals, marbles, textiles. It renovates doors, lift interiors, wall panels, columns and furniture in occupied premises without demolition, dust or downtime. Fasara films do the same for glass partitions, adding privacy and design.
What are the AIS-090 conspicuity marking requirements for trucks?
AIS-090 under CMVR mandates retroreflective conspicuity marking on commercial vehicles in India — continuous marking along the sides and rear so the vehicle outline is visible at night. We supply compliant 3M Diamond Grade 983 kits (white/yellow side, red-white rear) and guide correct placement so your fleet passes RTO inspection and stays visible on highways.
Do you only supply products, or also install them?
Both. Ekdant Enterprises is an authorised 3M distributor since 2008 with trained applicators for films, matting, anti-skid and conspicuity marking. We do site surveys, recommend the right product, supply genuine 3M material with warranty, and install it correctly — one accountable vendor for the whole job.
